Its good to smile or is it?
If someone is too tired to give you a smile, leave one of your own, because no one needs a smile as much as those who have none.
Just a thought……..
It takes many more facial muscles to frown than it does to smile. That being so you would think the world would be full of smiling faces!
Since i arrived and settled in Spain running my multiple business i have time to wander and meet the locals. I noticed a very old elderly Spanish lady walking near to my villa. She had a sad face, wrinkled and it tells a story of trial and difficulty over many long years. She is certainly old enough to remember terrible times of civil war, poverty and hardship, her sad face reflects every difficulty. I could be totally wrong about a painful past and she maybe perfectly happy, but her face in repose is like an open book; a melancholy of drama. Really.
During the 1960s Christians were encouraged to wear badges and use car stickers saying “smile God loves you” I find this difficult to comprehend especially if you are going through tough times. Yet we all love people who smile don’t we? Especially if they can manage a smile in adversity. We are attracted to the warmth of a smile. It can be a precious gift in a down day…would you agree? A smile can be infectious. Have you ever tried smiling to strangers when they pass you by? Be Careful I have tried this and you realise people are looking at you but they are not sure why you are smile…some people might think you are mad.
Lets smile together and make a small difference to the people we meet and pass.
baby smilingWe can make a difference.Make someone Else’s day with a genuine smile, whatever your personal circumstance. And remember God does love you.
Be Happy, keep smiling
Your friend in Spain
